Queen Mary 2 – Fall Foliage

QM 2 in Quebec City

It is always a good idea to “revisit a classic” the saying goes. That is what’s in store for the coming days as I return aboard Cunard for their World Forum sales and advisory meeting. Join me as we get ready to board on a beautiful fall day in Quebec City, the capital of the French speaking province by the same name.

Before I cover more of the legendary ocean liner Queen Mary 2 however, let me share the magic of this place which is evident from every direction. Be it it’s stunning promontory protected by the 18th century Vauban-style citadelle or the architectural masterpiece that is the Canadian National Railway hotel turned Fairmont Chateau Frontenac, this charming city takes your breath away. The fall colors further add to its atmosphere and the food scene is wining over hearts and minds as well. From traditional poutine, to crepes, and maple glazed everything, Quebec impresses even the finest of palates.

Worth a visit for a weekend or as a start or end point for a cruise, Quebec City is by far the most French city in the Americas and absolutely not to be missed. It’s Christmas markets are stunning and the carnival and ice festivals, while freezing cold, are big draws.

Vieux Quebec

Fortunately, we were greeted with unseasonably warm temperatures which make exploring around this walkable city even more fun. The mild weather allowed us to explore the many quaint streets and the citadelle jacketless today. Before we sail away, we’ll have more time to enjoy the views of this magnificent place. I hope o got the message across that this city is a treasure for visitors to come and enjoy.
