In all the decades I have been fortunate to visit ancient Egypt, I never till today was able to get to the paws of the Sphinx. This truly exclusive access was arranged especially for this illustrious group of Direct Travel guests to culminate a truly spectacular day of touring the Giza plateau.
Starting with the step pyramid in sakkara early morning to escape the heat, our group toured the newest access to pharaoh Djoser’ burial site with its 90foot shaft that opened to the public only a few months ago.
It is truly amazing to experience archeology in action as there are hundreds old excavations taking place around this area by international teams from all over the world. it is this context that makes Egypt a place to return to every so often as new experiences await.
