Our expert driver Kristjan navigated our sprinter van across rural roads into the Icelandic highlands. Windswept valleys, stunning vistas, and evidence of winter grasping a bit more every day made for a fantastic day full of discoveries.
From learning the art of living and maintaining ancient turf houses to hikes through stunning vistas with waterfalls, basalt gorges, and snowfields, our day across the highlands on “C” & “D” roads led us to IHOP for a remarkable lunch of Icelandic pancakes and the obligatory tasting of fermented shark as well as liquid Black Death.
All in all, a magical day that ended at an eco lodge with exquisite food, charming rooms, to a fantastic roral setting, this place took our collective breaths away.
