Two nights at Gran Velas were followed by a quick overnight inspection stay at the new Hilton & Waldorf Astoria Cancun complex which offers multiple lodging levels and services. I was privileged to spend a night at the Waldorf Astoria section with a king ocean view room with private terrace and plunge pool

I chose this stay with several purposes in mind. One is the potential for this duplex resort to serve as a conference host in 26, another is the competitive set of new offerings in the Cancun area for luxury resorts our clients are asking for, and finally, for my own experience as a Hilton loyalist. The stay did not disappoint, despite the traumatic weather front that hit the area overnight. Massive flooding, closed airport, and some damage to local infrastructure was the result of this storm.

This resort is the ideal place for the countless Hilton Honors members and anyone tha likes modern high-end style with legendary brand touches only the Waldorf Astoria can provide. while my stay was sort (just shy of 24 hrs), I have no hesitation to recommend this property to any cosmopolitan traveler looking for a few nights at the beach. From exquisite a La carte culinary inn4 different restaurants to the elegant SPA, the Waldorf sets the bar high.

This quick stay behind me, tge final resort awaits for a 4night stay which I will cover in more detail with my next post.
