It is with great anticipation that Azamara Pursuit finally called on Nagoya- the birthplace of Toyota Motors. It is no secret for a young e who knows me, that as a lifelong petrol head, coming to these holy grounds was a dream for years. I be am finally here!

As with many things in life, the path for the worlds largest car manufacturer was not straight forward. In fact, it all began with weaving machines that became the driving force in post WWI Japan. It was the vision of the founder’ son to begin manufacturing cars which became a short lived reality in the 30s. Shortly lived due to the next global conflict we now know as World War II which forced Toyota to produce war equipment instead of passenger cars under its ruling emperor.

The fantastic museum we got yo visit brought all the facets of weaving from cotton to rayon and eventually our modern day car seat fabrics to light perfectly arranged with the right mix of displays and live demonstrations, this place is not just a historical account, it is a pilgrimage any car fan should make.
