Christmas Markets – In Germany

Hamburg Hauptbahnhof

It’s been nearly 20 years since I spent time in Germany leading up to Christmas and I admit that the magic of all the decorations and illuminations is intoxicating. Over this coming week, I will bring you closer to the German heartland on our Uniworld River voyage from Nuremberg to Frankfurt.

This adventure is a bit of a special one in terms of chronology and purpose as well as participants. From the Bay Area to New Uork for Travel Weekly Awards, then to Hamburg for meetings with our new colleagues from ATPI, I am currently cruising at 200kmh on the German rail ICE service from Hamburg to Munich where I will be joined by my first friend and traveling companion for this trip. Monday, two more friends will join when we board Uniworld’s River Duchess.
