On my last leg and of the journey now, on board Air New Zealand’s 777-300 from Auckland to San Francisco, I wanted to take a moment to share the stats for this incredible journey I was privileged to partake in. Many of you have asked.
I circled the globe on 6 long distance and two domestic flights, on 6 different airlines totalling just under 32’000 miles. As a reference, the Circumference of the earth at the equator is about 24,874 miles (40,030 km). In terms of flight hours in the air, I logged 61 hours and 10 minutes, not counting time at airports and in lounges.
As previously blogged, this was a trip of many firsts with one more to go. This last leg will be my first crossing of the international dateline. One of these days, I will tally up all the miles I have flown in my life. The number is staggering for sure.
About to board. Logging off for now.
Bon Voyage
And welcome home to you!
I have enjoyed your blog so much !
Hopefully, in the near future, we can all get together and hear about your amazing Odyssey first hand.
Love,
Bob&Sue

Indeed. Welcome home. It used to be that a post trip slide show was de rigeure (sp?). I think the blog covers that but wine and stories are still wanted.
