After a restful night and packing all my stuff up for my journey home, 5 of my trip mates joined in a last excursion to Piha bay and the rain forest outside Auckland.
Along the way we passed the beach where Jane Campion filmed the dramatic beach scene of the movie “The Piano”. This experience with our guide Tony brought vivid light how valuable small tours are in terms of getting local history and context of the sights and sounds of a destination.
I will be recommending this more often going forward.
The scenery was again out of this world.
Please note the local coffee shop sign which will become my mantra going forward (minus the barista) part sinc le I quit drinking coffee.
