Our journey is almost at its end. After another relaxing night at the Foss hotel in Reykholt, tre DL group made its way back to the capital city for a day of sightseeing.
Our first stop was at historic Hofti house where back in 1986, president Reagan and Michail gorbatchov met to discuss the end of the Cold War. I vividly remember those years where hope and optimism spread across Europe. The building had previously served as the resid ncebofvthe British ambassador.
From you here we made our way to the Pearl. It is the distribution center for hot water for the city. Atop the building is a viewing terrace with 360 degree views of Reykjavik.
Another rainbow brought us luck. Everyone enjoyed their afternoon to roam the streets of this charming capital before we gathered for a farewell drink at the Radisson Blu 1919 that night. A smaller group returned to Messin restaurant for dinner. We highly recommend the Arctic char or the wolffish dish which is a delight.
Served family stile in a brown sauce with cream and cream cheese, roasted potatoes and tomatoes, this was a flavor profile worth flying back to Reykjavik for. (Note to self- don’t do it on WOW Air)
Farewell to my traveling companions!
I miss you already.
Thank you for sharing the final day of your trip.
