2018-05-30-Norwegian Bliss Inaugural

Blissful days await…aboard Norwegian’s newest ship

Follow me as I discover the brand new Norwegian Bliss on a 3 night sailing from Seattle beginning this afternoon with its naming ceremony in the port of Seattle.  I very much look forward to the experience as I have never sailed on Norwegian Cruise Line and this ship speaks my language from an attractions perspective featuring a Go-Kart track on its top deck.  Stay tuned for a video of my ride later this week.

Once on board, I joined the ongoing inaugural celebrations at the theatre just in time to hear from the global CEO Frank Del Rio. The reason for my late arrival was fog and strong wind in Dan Francisco which pushed my flight by almost two hours. I should have known better and follow my own advice to come a night before, but luckily I made it.

A first night aboard wrapped up I can now report that the meals so far have been above standard for this cruise category. Our small group dinner at Cucina last night was fantastic with truly one of my life’s best veal osso buco’s ever.

Breakfast is served at the serene garden cafe in high atop the bow of Bliss. A truly innovative location that stands in well appreciated contrast to all other mass market vessels where the buffet is stuck aft.

Stay tuned for more adventures on board today…
