At long last, our twice postponed Egyptian Adventure begins. Thirteen travelers are making their way to Cairo on different airlines and vastly different routes. Most via Europe and the tree of us (Greg, Julie, and myself) via the Gulf state of Qatar. It is a first for me on multiple levels – first time on Qatar Airways – first time in Doha- first actual vacation since Covid.
Our first leg from San Francisco to Doha runs 16 hours over the North Pole on a brand new Airbus 350-1000 – the new gold standard in flying. Watar Airways has been named the winner of Skytrax best business class for two years running and my seat called Q-Suite is absolutely stunning. Tons of space, nifty details, and attentive service make this a treat to remember for a long time.
The meal selection read like a Michelin star restaurant and the taste was on par as well. Impressive for airplane preparation! Of course, the wine and cocktails matched the food and tons of entertainment options were also on offer. All in all, a class-leading experience for guests traveling to Asia and Africa.
