One of the innovations #VirginVoyages brings to cruising is the cutting edge diversity “of and in” its programming. Unlike traditional cruises, shows repeat multiple times throughout the cruise at different times, giving more guests a chance to attend. Ranging from 45 to 75 minutes, the programs feel fresh, are fast-paced, and innovative in an avant-garde way.
Last night’s program titled “Ships in the night” dealt with the topic of loneliness in a fast paced world and today’s show Duel Reality engaged the audience as supporting roles for the acrobats. Split in half as guests walked in, the audience was arranged facing each other in support of either the Red or Blue team. This created a rivalry as backdrop for the act which ended in a heartwarming unification after a tumultuous display of circus acts. Pure brilliance for an engaged audience. Other than Celebrity Cruises Eden concept, no other cruise line entertainment comes close in diversity and creativity.
Case in point is the New York Neo-Futurist theatre group which enacted 30 mini-plays in audience chosen order. This amazing “improv” style event took place in the intimate Night Club venue called The Manor. As you can see from the preceding image of the play list, the topics ran far and wide. Our very own Lana Sigg from the Nashville office was selected as audience participant. Very cool.
