It took half a day to get to Leon from San Francisco by plane and a further 1.5 hours by car to reach the “corrazon” of Mexico – the colonial city of San Miguel de Allende. A group of about fifty gathered here for a long celebratory weekend to commemorate Albert Garcia’s round birthday.

This city is rated among the top most beautiful in the world and as “the heart ❤️ of Mexico. Preserved in its entirety by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage, everywhere you turn, your eyes feast on architectural marvels and charming vignettes. Of course, the culinary aspect is also ever-present.

On our first full day, we discovered a fabulous place for breakfast where creative local fare is served with colorful edible decorations. A feast for the eyes and palates at the same time. Yum!
