2018 Hawaii Adventure

Big Island drive

You can tell from my blogs that this was not a sit by the beach trip. Today was no exception as we packed our stuff, said good bye to the Royal Kona Hotel and headed north around the island.

The first sight seeing stop was at Waipi’o valley lookout. Of course, we had a bite for breakfast first.

Then we continued along the coast to the Akaka Falls which are a must see for any visitor to the Hilo side of the island.

Another meal was calling – lunch with Hawaiian pork from a local vendor #brisbigislandbbq which was fantastic.

Onward we went to Volcano National Park for a rainy but magnificent visit which included the nighttime viewing of the caldera in action.

The scenery tonight was outstanding and lent a glowing end to our Hawaii adventure (pun intended).

All that is left is the flight home tomorrow amd a lifetime of memories travelling with Kurt and Jim.
