A stunningly blue sky morning awaited us in Krems with summer like temperatures in the 80s. After breakfast, i joined a group of Viking Modi guests on the “Austria’s famed white wines from vine to bottle” tour which included amazing cold cuts, a spread of veggies and other pork products – all rounded out by a taste of “Marillen schnapps” (apricot brandy).
We arrived at the Moerswald family winery now in its 4th generation a short 20 minutes drive later. The family has been making wine since 1886 and specializes in crisp and young whites. 
A lovely two hour visit guided us through 5 varietals and a tour of the limestone cellar before we made our way back to Krems for lunch.
What an amazing day it was!
