New York’s evolving architecture – a new take

With three days of meetings and a second overnight trip to Manhattan within a couple of weeks behind me, I thought I would share the newest architecture with you. On a sunny afternoon, I had a bit of time to meander through Manhattan before my flight and guided by my dear friends Jim & Kurt, we explored the new Hudson Yards project at the upper end of the now famous High Line. You won’t believe the views!

One of the stunning new additions t the High Line Skyline is the late Zaha Hadid designed condo building with all its lovely rounded edges.

The Hudson Yards will house a mall, restaurants and art venues and the Western Hemisphere’s tallest outdoor observatory. All that is built on top of the rail yards and tunnels for Amtrak. Amazing!

If you haven’t been in the big Apple lately, let me recommend it for a long weekend getaway.

  1. Timing couldn’t be better. I’ve got an overnight and will try to remember to look at the buildings while I wander around. Thanks for the post!
