Post pandemic #TravelisBack has exploded of late and the world is gradually opening up to US and Canadian guests. This is the context for our latest adventure #DirectSailsAma trip aboard our outstanding river cruise partner AMA Waterways on the Rhone river. “Our” is defined here by 4 travel advisors – 2 from the US and 2 from Canada – and yours truly as well as a group of 20 Direct Travel guests from our Travel with Alan division.
After a completely full flight on United from Chicago to Paris, every guest was triaged after exiting the jet bridge into a red, green, or amber color based on departure country and then was shepherded through immigration and customs. While a bit stressful, the actual process was easy with passport, vaccination record, and required French Government attestation form in hand, the French Borderpolice stamped my passport quickly and on I went. #ReturntoTravel
Once through the immigration process , I caught the TGV for a ride to Avignon. Three relaxing and efficient hours later, I arrived in town and I made my way to the ship.
