What a year it has been since my last “normal” travel experience aboard Regent Seven Seas sailing from Miami last February. Back then, the virus that would eventually disrupt our lives globally had just made its presence known in northern Italy. The word ‘lockdown’ was still shocking in meaning and concept for most and hope was that this budding pandemic would pass fast.
That was then, today the reality of living with Covid-19 as once a century crisis is clearer and it is what brings me to write this blog. “Crisis as an opportunity” has become my personal outlook as a way to shape a path forward. It is in this context that you can follow me on another Mexican adventure – this time to learn more about Puero Vallarta and it’s famous Punta Mita area.
Over the decades, I have honed my cruise and touring skills across the globe. Admittedly though, I knew relatively little about the booming beach Resorts side of my industry we lovingly call “fly & flop”. This crisis afforded me the opportunity to lose this knowledge gap, first with a couple of trips to Cancun and the Riviera Maya. Then with trips to Cabo San Lucas and now to PVR. You might be interested to know that this stint will consist of two different lodging experiences.
My sojourn will begin at Resort giant Iberostar – all-inclusive resort at Punta Mita for three nights, followed by a brand new Hilton Group property for its Conrad brand- named after its founder Conrad Hilton.
