This morning we left early for a site inspection of Club Med’s 5 Trident property 50 miles north of Punta Cana at rustic Playa Esmeralda, close to the town of Miches. This newest of Club Med villages features 335 rooms acros 4 categories catering to all needs from honeymoon couples to multi-gen families.

Ecological solutions abound here to make this an environmentally sustainable development that enhances nature instead of destroying it. From locally sourced building materials to education programs for the community to train staff and new farm to table partnerships, this property sets “best in class” standards for all-inclusive resorts. I applaud Club Med for their efforts.

Our tour of the property began at the innovative palapa entrance and took us around its 18 hectares in a circular fashion. Know that this resort is currently awaiting reopening due to demand from their main market France having dropped off. Nationwide lockdowns have something to do with this. Goal is to reopen by June which seems doable.

The above series of room pictures is one of the two rooms I recommend. Below is the other one.

All good things must end so we wrapped up our tour of the facilities and headed back to Punta Cana. Thank you to Justin and Mariecruz for the opportunity to visit this eco-magical place. I can wholeheartedly recommend it to any traveler seeking tranquility in a tropical paradise.
Wow! It’s a totally new experience joining you on your resort visits. I’d love to get a sense of what you find interesting/good about the resorts and what their shortfalls are.
Hi Rene,
When will you be returning? I miss you and always love catching up in person and picking your brain on oh so many things.
Love,
Julie
