Edinburgh food walk – group shot

Arrived in Scotland a day early, our gaggle met for a food discovery walking tour of the city before early afternoon embarkations at the port of Rosyth. The skies were blue and the town showcased its most iconic elements such as Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, and Waverly Station from where rail lines crisscross the country.

Several tasty local treats, and tons of colorful Scottish lore told by our colorful guide Sam brought this historic city with two world famous castles at either end to life. If it isn’t already, Edinburgh should feature on your “bucket list”.

Cod soup – Cullen Skink

Not to be missed among the libations was the iconic Scottish fish soup called Cullen Skink. Think of it as a chowder with cod instead of clams that tastes delicious and is nutritious at the same time.

Dolphins playing

Once aboard the Endurance, our journey had us sailing past a rock filled with the largest gannet population (over 250k birds) in Northern Europe. This spectacular show was followed by multiple pods of dolphins passing our novel X- now designed vessel with curiosity. These local dolphins are among the smartest and largest of their species. Well studied and observed, they are rarely seen by the naked eye but the decided to put on a show for us as we sailed past on our way to Buckie.
